Cookie Policy
Our cookie list is short, and we like it that way. This page explains the small bits of data the site stores in your browser, what each is for, and how to clear or block them whenever you want.
What a cookie is here
A cookie is a tiny file a website leaves in your browser so it can remember something on your next visit. Some sites use dozens for advertising; we use a handful, and only for things that keep the site working or help us count how many people read the Chalk Talks.
What we set
- Essential — remembers that you've dismissed the cookie notice, so it doesn't nag you on every page. Stored locally in your browser, no personal data.
- Preferences — if you turn off motion in your system, the site respects it; nothing is sent anywhere.
- Analytics (optional) — a lightweight count of page visits so we know which lessons and articles are useful. It's aggregated and doesn't identify you.
We don't run advertising cookies or share what we measure with ad networks.
Your consent
When you first arrive, a small banner points you to this page. Clicking "Got it" simply hides the banner. Essential storage is always on because the site can't work without it; the optional analytics count only runs where the law allows and where you haven't opted out in your browser.
Turning cookies off
Every browser lets you view, delete and block cookies and local storage from its settings — usually under "Privacy" or "Site settings." You can clear ours specifically, or block everything. If you clear the essential entry, the cookie banner will simply appear again next time.
